Mentoring journey
The i•dive Mentoring program is a development journey that values people’s experience, placing it at the service of others’ growth.
Learning arises from the dialogue between experience and aspiration: on one side, those who bring their own path and the choices they have made; on the other, those who bring goals and development ambitions.
The relationship thus becomes a space in which to give shape to one’s professional direction, in dialogue with someone who has already faced similar challenges.
Who the Mentoring program is for
Mentoring is designed to support people’s development within the organization, valuing experience and fostering the transfer of skills and company culture.
It is particularly suited to:
Young talent and new hires
To accelerate onboarding, understand the organizational context and quickly develop key skills for the role.
People in role transition
To support moves into new responsibilities, facilitating on-the-job learning and exchange with more experienced colleagues.
Middle managers and high-potential professionals
To sustain professional growth, broaden organizational vision and develop decision-making and leadership capabilities.
The benefits of corporate Mentoring
The benefits of corporate Mentoring concern both people and the organization. For the mentee, the journey offers a space for exchange that accelerates learning, helps develop greater professional awareness and supports growth choices. For the mentor, the relationship becomes an opportunity to consolidate skills in leadership, listening, responsibility and passing on experience.
Mentoring fosters the transfer of know-how, dialogue between generations and organizational continuity, supporting moments of change and development as well.
It also contributes to creating a culture based on learning, collaboration and trust, making the organization more capable of evolving and valuing its internal expertise.
In this way, Mentoring becomes a concrete tool to support people’s development and strengthen the organization’s ability to learn from its own experience.
What the Mentoring journey includes
According to David Clutterbuck, the father of the Mentoring methodology, many programs fail not for lack of skills, but for lack of structure, clarity of goals and continuous support along the way.
This is why our Mentoring journeys are designed together with the organization to guide mentors and mentees through a supported, structured learning process over time.
The journey can be adapted to the company’s needs and generally includes the following elements:
Initial analysis and design
A moment of exchange with HR to understand goals, participant profiles and the organizational context, in order to design the most suitable Mentoring journey.
02
Matching mentor–mentee
Pairing mentors and mentees on the basis of development goals, professional experience and areas of interest, to foster effective Mentoring relationships.
Project kick-off
An initial meeting to present the journey, share methodology and expectations, and create the conditions of trust needed for the Mentoring relationship.
Initial training for mentors and mentees
Dedicated training moments to introduce the Mentoring method, clarify roles and responsibilities and provide useful tools for the Mentoring relationship.
05
Mentoring meetings
Regular sessions between mentor and mentee dedicated to discussing professional experiences, development goals and the challenges of the work context.
Pit stops for exchange and support
Intermediate coach-led moments to sustain the journey, encourage exchange between participants and help mentors and mentees make the most of the Mentoring experience.
Thematic workshops
In-depth meetings on topics relevant to professional and organizational development, which allow participants to share experiences and generate collective learning.
08
Kick-out and sharing of learnings
A final moment dedicated to reviewing the experience, reflecting on the lessons learned and celebrating the results of the journey.
Support from the i•dive platform
Throughout the journey, mentors and mentees can use the i•dive platform to keep track of their work, share reflections, access in-depth content and keep the relationship alive between one meeting and the next.
Duration and format of the journey
The duration of a Mentoring journey varies according to the goals, the number of participants and the organizational context. It generally unfolds over time, through regular meetings and moments of support, allowing the relationship to consolidate and the learning to be put into practice.
Most journeys take place online, to ensure continuity and organizational flexibility, although in-person moments can also be arranged.

The difference between coaching and Mentoring
Coaching and Mentoring are both highly effective development tools, but they act on different dimensions.
Coaching
Focuses on specific goals and works on behaviors, decisions and ways of acting.
Mentoring
Is based on sharing experience and helps people understand the context, develop their professional identity and orient their path.
This is why, within organizations, coaching and Mentoring are complementary approaches that respond to different development needs.
Our Mentoring offering
Corporate Mentoring
Corporate Mentoring is a structured journey that fosters the transfer of knowledge and experience between people with different levels of seniority. It involves a relationship between mentor and mentee, matched on specific development goals: professional experience on one side, and questions, challenges and growth goals on the other.
The journey is supported by training and exchange moments to make the most of the Mentoring relationship.
The main goals of corporate Mentoring activities are to:
- value the experience of senior people
- support the development of talent and future leadership
- foster the transmission of organizational culture
- develop leadership, listening and collaboration skills.
Intergenerational Mentoring
Intergenerational Mentoring fosters exchange between people of different generations within the organization.
In contexts where several generations work side by side, it is a tool for bridging distances and misunderstandings, creating spaces for exchange between different perspectives and experiences.
It can also include forms of mutual Mentoring, in which each participant offers and receives support according to their own expertise.
Its main goals are to:
- foster dialogue between generations
- develop collaboration and trust between colleagues
- value different skills and experiences
- stimulate innovation through the cross-pollination of perspectives.

Matching is carried out through a process of analysis and exchange with HR, considering:
- development goals
- professional experience
- organizational context
We prefer not to use automated systems because we believe Mentoring relationships require careful, qualitative assessment.
The goals of Mentoring can vary: supporting the growth of talent and future leadership, accompanying role transitions, fostering the transfer of know-how, strengthening dialogue between generations and contributing to a more collaborative, learning-oriented organizational culture.
An effective mentor knows how to listen, ask useful questions, share their experience with clarity and guide the mentee in reading the context and making development choices. To these skills are added reliability, discretion, awareness of their role and the ability to build a relationship of trust.
During Mentoring, mentor and mentee meet regularly to discuss development goals, professional challenges, role transitions, how to read the organizational context and growth choices. The journey can also include support moments, workshops and digital tools that help give continuity to the work between one meeting and the next.
A personalized corporate Mentoring service should adapt to the organization's goals, the participants' profiles and the context in which the journey is activated. Offering meetings between mentors and mentees is not enough: it takes a clear methodological framework, consistent matching, support moments, dedicated tools and the ability to build a journey tailored to the company's real needs.
i•dive journeys are built with exactly this logic: each program is designed around the organization's needs, the phase it is going through and the type of development it wants to support, integrating relationships, method and digital platform into a single journey.
